trip Planning
The journey begins early in the morning with a pick-up from your hotel or riad in Marrakech. As you set off, you will cross the desert plains north of the city, driving along the highway until you reach the coastal city of Casablanca.
Upon arriving in Casablanca, you will meet your local guide, who will join you in the vehicle to begin your tour of the city.
Your first stop will be the legendary Hassan II Mosque, known for its majestic 210-meter tall minaret. The Mosque was designed by a French architect and took 6 years to build, blending Islamic architecture with Moroccan elements. It is one of only two mosques in Morocco open to non-Muslims, making it a popular destination for tourists.
In addition to the Mosque, you will have the opportunity to visit other landmarks and attractions in Casablanca, such as the Clock Tower and the Mahkama do Pacha Palace. You will also have the chance to see the Corniche of Casablanca, located in the seaside neighborhood of Ain Diab. This area is known for its trendy clubs, restaurants, cafes, and hotels and offers the opportunity to take a leisurely walk along the seaside or enjoy a cup of mint tea at one of the local cafes.
Your tour will also include a visit to the Medina of Casablanca, which, although not as old as the medinas in Marrakech or Fes, still has a large residential portion with narrow streets.
You will also visit the Cathedral of Sacred Heart, built in the 1930s by the French colonials, and the United Nations Place, where you can see art deco buildings along the street.
Your tour will also include a visit to the Arab League Square, home to the Palais de la Justice.
If you would like, you can also choose to have lunch at the legendary Rick's Café, designed to recreate the gin joint bar from the classic movie "Casablanca."
After your tour of Casablanca is complete, you will begin the 3-hour drive back to Marrakech, taking in the sights of the green farms, followed by desert plains along the way.
Upon arriving back in Marrakech, you will be dropped off at your hotel, bringing your full-day trip to a close.
